I managed to cobble together a very (no, make that very, VERY) short prologue to my young adult fantasy novel, The Witches of Coven Hill. It probably won’t survive the final draft because—as I’ve told Eric on several occasions—I don’t really like prologues. Nevertheless, it allowed me to explore the backstory of my favorite non-POV character, Amethyst “Amy” Brown, and at least I wrote something. It’s a start.

Eric G.
in my now vast (six months!) experience with doing critiques, I’ve found EVERYONE hates prologues. You’re in good company.
However, evern writer should write one (or two) for each book, just for themselves, to get over the hesitation marks that come before plunging the blade in deep. (Yes, thats a stabbing metaphor for writing. Sad that it’s so applicable.)
